Influenzal acute myositis in the elderly

Service de Medecine Interne (Drs. Congy, Wang, and Moulias), Clinique Médicale 1 (Professor J. Loeper), and the Laboratoire de Neuropathologie Charles Foix (Dr. Hauw), Hôpital de la Salpôtriêre, Paris, France.

We report an 84-year-old man with completely regressive acute myositis. The presumed etiology was an Influenza A virus infection, based on the serologic results.
