Steroid-induced remissions in CNS lymphoma

A case of primary malignant lymphoma of the CNS is reported in which enhancing lesions on CT disappeared with steroid therapy. This was accompanied by improvement in clinical signs and symptoms, although there was subsequent recurrence in the same or adjacent regions. The tumor affected cerebellar vermis, cerebellopontine angle, pons, interpeduncular fossa, and region of the third ventricle. Problems related to differential diagnosis with demyelinating disease and sarcoidosis are discussed.
