Charles Krieger, M.D. and Calvin Melmed, M.D., F.R.C.P.(C.)

Montreal General Hospital, Montreal, Canada.

A patient with ALS had an IgG kappa monoclonal gammopathy. This raises the possibility that monoclonal paraproteins may sometimes play a role in the etiology of motor neuron disease.

Address correspondence and reprint requests to Dr. Melmed, Montreal General Hospital, 1650 Ceder Avenue, Montreal, Quebec H3G 1A4 Canada.

Accepted for publication January 6, 1982.
