Trial of octacosanol in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis

ALS Center and the Departments of Neurology and Medicine (Pulmonary Service), Pacific Presbyterian Medical Center, San Francisco, CA.

Octacosanol was tried in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis in a double-blind, placebo-controlled, crossover design. Neurologic and pulmonary function evaluations showed no benefit.
