The authors report two patients with idiopathic trigeminal sensory neuropathy who showed gadolinium enhancement of the cisternal segment of the corresponding trigeminal nerve in cranial MRI. The resolution of these lesions in a repeat MRI suggests a similarity to Bells palsy.
