Retraction of "Preferential degradation of oxidized proteins by the 20S proteasome may be inhibited in aging and in inflammatory neuromuscular diseases"
We were advised that the above article by Drs. Davies and Shringarpurepublished in Neurology was almost identical to an article bythe same authors published in the journal Free Radical Biology& Medicine in 2002.1 The text in the two papers is essentiallythe same, except for minor changes in wording and one paragraphadded to the Neurology paper. The references are the same. Thisconstitutes a violation of Neurologys Information forAuthors and the guidelines for authors in the "Uniform Requirementsfor Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals: Writing andEditing for Biomedical Publication." We are therefore retractingthe paper published in Neurology.
