Call for “Voices: Lived Experiences”
We encourage you to submit short first-person accounts (1000 words or less) of experiences lived within the realm of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) with the goal of informing and enlightening our community on these critical issues. Some topics to consider include, but are not limited to:
- Descriptions of personal experiences that shaped your views of EDI.
- Reflections on the intersection between personal identity and career.
- Discussions at the intersection of EDI and neurology patient care, research, education, advocacy, or policy.
Submissions are welcome from all members of the neurology and neuroscience community, including, but not limited to, clinicians, trainees, researchers, staff and patients (in collaboration with their care providers, if they so desire).
With each submission, authors are welcome, but not required, to submit 3 facts and/or resources to highlight in the accompanying “Did You Know” section on the site. This section was created to advance our community’s education around topics of EDI, and provide actionable next steps to engage further in EDI efforts.
The Neurology EDI specialty site co-Editors will review all submissions based on topic, focus and clarity of presentation, and reserve the right to edit or decline submissions. A selection of “Voices: Lived Experiences” submissions will be featured in the print version of Neurology. Please submit your contributions to journal@neurology.org and include “Voices Submission” in the subject line.
We look forward to reading your perspectives!
