Delayed‐onset posthemiplegic dystonia
CT demonstration of basal ganglia pathology

September 1982 issue
32 (9) 1033

Abstract

We studied three patients with delayed onset of unilateral involuntary movements after recovery from hemiplegia. In all three cases, CT showed low-density striatal changes, compatible with previous cerebral infarction. These changes involved maximally the putamen and to a slightly lesser degree the caudate. Thalamic atrophy was also seen in all three patients.
