Open Access Neurology: Neuroimmunology & Neuroinflammation
Gold OA for authors (authors funded by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, UKRI (formerly known as RCUK), Swedish Research Council, National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) [UK], or Wellcome Trust/COAF Partners see section below). Authors (including authors of commercially sponsored papers) will have articles published in final form as OA. Authors must sign a license to publish giving the publisher the right to publish the article, create derivatives, and sell reprints. The authors retain the copyright and anyone can use the article for non-commercial purposes with proper attribution to the Journal as the original publisher. Each author will sign a license that will give him/her the rights outlined in the Creative Commons: Attribution-Non Commercial-No Derivatives (CC BY-NC-ND) License. This license does not permit commercial exploitation or the creation of derivative works without specific permission. Additionally, all authors will have their final published article deposited into PMC. The article processing charge (APC) is $3450 per article. The charge for publication of Clinical/Scientific Notes is $700.

The authors retain copyright but anyone may reuse the article and create derivatives, even for commercial purposes, with proper attribution to the Journal as the original publisher. Authors will be required to publish, as per funding mandates, under the Creative Commons: Attribution (CC-BY) License. Authors/funders must pay an APC of $3450. The charge for publication of Clinical/Scientific Notes is $700.
With both OA options, all authors will continue to sign Publication Agreement Forms at provisional acceptance. As stated, the authors will retain the copyright.
Low- and Middle-Income Economies
Neurology: Neuroimmunology & Neuroinflammation offers full or partial equitable waivers for accepted articles from low-income and middle-income economies. Eligibility is based on the Research4Life eligibility criteria. Countries listed in Group A are eligible for the full waiver and countries listed in Group B are eligible for the partial (50%) waiver. The waiver is automatically applied based on the Corresponding Author's country information provided during submission. Open Access Payment and Customer Service
At Final Acceptance, the Corresponding Author will receive an email from [email protected] with the subject line “Please Submit Your Open Access Article Publication Charge(s).” Payment should be made promptly to ensure timely publication with an “OPEN” icon and license-to-publish wording included. Creative Commons License Adjustment Policy
Neurology: Neuroimmunology & Neuroinflammation does not permit a change in Creative Commons license type after publication; be thorough in the review of any funding entity and their licensing requirements.
APC Refund Policy
The publisher is committed to completing the production process for open access articles in a timely manner. Articles will be held until permissions, author corrections, author forms, or other required information is received. If the article is withdrawn, authors may apply to the Publisher for a refund of the APC within 30 calendar days. The amount refunded is dependent upon the position of the article in the production process.
