Peer Review Week 2023
Thank You To Our Valued Reviewers
As Peer Review Week begins, we wish to once again share our immense gratitude to the dedicated reviewers for Neurology®. Peer review is essential to what we do, and the success of the journal is due in large part to you.
We can accept only a minority of submitted manuscripts and must select those articles we believe will be most informative for readers and help us better understand and care for our patients. Your advice regarding the novelty of the research question, suitability of the study methods, interpretation of the results, accuracy of the report, and the implications of the findings for clinicians, researchers, and policy makers is critical to help us make decisions about which papers we should publish. Your comments also help the authors improve the quality of their manuscripts, whether they are published in Neurology or submitted elsewhere.
Reviewing is a volunteer activity, and the editors are mindful of the multiple demands on the time of all our reviewers; we therefore extend our sincere gratitude for your dedication to the journal.
Please send an email to journal@neurology.org if you would like to do more reviews or if you have never reviewed for the journal but are interested in doing so. For guidance in reviewing, see the Information for Reviewers (IFR) link at n.neurology.org/submit/submitreview. Click on this link for information on expectations of reviewers regarding confidentiality, timeliness, and reviewer conflicts of interest. The IFR also provides instructions for formatting the comments to editors and authors to make communication with authors most effective.
About Peer Review Week
Peer Review Week (PRW) is a virtual community-led yearly global event celebrating the essential role that peer review plays in maintaining scientific quality. The event brings together individuals, institutions, and organizations committed to sharing the central message that good peer review, whatever shape or form it might take, is critical to scholarly communications. This year’s PRW will be dedicated to the theme “Peer Review and The Future of Publishing.” Click here for a list of 2023 Peer Review Week Activities.
The Editors of Neurology® are pleased to celebrate the superior dedication and commitment to excellence of these valued peer reviewers.
