Ted M. Burns, MD, FAAN
Dr. Ted Burns was the founding editor of the Neurology Podcast and a driving force behind the Minute Daily Briefing. When Ted approached the Neurology journal about starting a new form of media called a podcast back in 2007, the powers that be were naturally skeptical. Ted was concerned that while learning was robust during the short time neurologists were in training, there was limited access to readily available, up-to-date clinical information once they graduated and entered into practice.
The Neurology Podcast has been an enormously successful venture, bringing Neurology and AAN content to listeners worldwide for free. The mission for the podcast has always been clear: to bring clinically relevant, practical information to neurology clinicians—to make us better at what we do, and thereby improve the lives of our patients.
