Resident & Fellow Section Recruiting
The Neurology Resident & Fellow Editors are seeking neurology residents to serve a three-year term as Editorial Team members for the Neurology Resident & Fellow Section. Responsibilities will begin in September 2023.
Responsibilities will include manuscript review, assistance in writing manuscripts, recruiting others to write manuscripts, generating ideas for the Section, and participation in monthly conference calls. New members are expected to dedicate an estimated 3 hours per month to the Section. Residents should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including having demonstrated strong writing ability and leadership potential. Those with an interest in medical education and teaching are particularly welcome.
Residents from accredited neurology training programs anywhere in the world are invited to apply.
Of the 3-year term, trainees should be residents for the first two years and fellowship eligible for the final year.
US Trainees
Eligible residents should have two remaining years of neurology residency training. Eligible applicants include adult neurology residents starting their PGY-3 year on July 1, 2023, and child neurology residents starting their PGY-4 (if 2 years of general pediatrics) or PGY-5 year (if 3 years of general pediatrics) on July 1, 2023. Applicants should clearly state their anticipated date of graduation from neurology residency. Program directors can nominate residents or residents may nominate themselves.
International Trainees
Eligible residents should have two remaining years of neurology residency training. Neurology trainees must be adult or child neurology residents who have completed at least one full year of dedicated postgraduate neurology training (i.e., not including prior postgraduate training years in general, clinical and/or internal medicine). Program directors can nominate residents or residents may nominate themselves. Applicants should clearly state the start date of their residency program and their anticipated date of graduation from neurology residency. Evidence of English language ability (including, but not limited to, formal English qualifications or having studied/worked in an English-speaking environment) is essential. Responsibilities will begin in September 2023.
Requirements:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV);
- A brief personal statement (max. 500 words on one page) from the applicant must include a proposed new initiative or idea for improving the RFS;
- Letter(s) of support from the applicant's Program Director to confirm eligibility and ensure the trainee can contribute the hours/responsibilities outlined above; The letter should clearly indicate where the nominees are in their training;
- International applicants: Please include information regarding English language ability
Desirable but not required:
- At least one peer-reviewed publication in English
- Additional letters of support from other mentors (maximum of 1)
- Peer review experience (e.g., Publons verified record)
