Frequently Asked Questions about Individual Member and Non-Member Subscriptions
- Will I receive a password? May I share my password with friends, or is use limited solely to me?
When you complete the subscription process, you will receive a user name and a password. You are the only one licensed to use this password.
- What if I forget my password?
We have instructions for what to do if you forget your user name or your password. Details about how to do this will be included as part of the subscription process.
- Why should I have a personal subscription to Neurology or Neurology: Clinical Practice?
- Individual Member and Non-Member Subscribers have access to:
- Tables of contents, abstracts, full-text searching, full-text display, PDFs, links to Medline, future issue tables of contents, interjournal links to other HighWire Press journals, and password access to Neurology Online from any computer connected to the Internet. For information about subscribing as a member or non-member, click here.
Without a subscription, you have access to tables of contents, abstracts, and full-text searching (without viewing) at no charge and without having to register.
- How can I tell if my institution has subscribed? How do I get my institution to subscribe?
If your institution has subscribed electronically, you will automatically have access to the tables of contents, abstracts, full-text searching, full-text display, PDFs, Medline links, and future tables of contents. You'll also see a button at the top of the page confirming you're signed in as part of an institution.
If your institution does not have a print or electronic subscription and you would like them to subscribe, please contact your local librarian. Click here for information about institutional subscriptions.
- If my Neurology subscription expires and at some later date I reinstate my subscription, will I have access to all years of the electronic version?
Yes, when you are a subscriber, you have access to all years of the Neurology Online database.
- Who is eligible for an Individual Member or Non-Member Subscription?
Members of the American Academy of Neurology receive Neurology and Neurology: Clinical Practice as part of their membership package. Non-member subscriptions are available through the publisher. Click here for information about subscribing to Neurology.
Individual member and non-member subscribers may also have access to Neurology Online and/or Neurology: Clinical Practice Online through their institutions. Institutional subscriptions are somewhat more limited than individual member or non-member subscriptions in that full-text access when away from the institution's network (e.g., home access) is not available.
- How can I access Neurology Online or Neurology: Clinical Practice Online if I am not an AAN member and don't have access through an Institutional Subscription?
You may wish to apply for membership in the American Academy of Neurology or you may wish to purchase an Individual (Non-Member) print subscription, which provides access to the electronic version. Without a subscription, you have access to tables of contents, abstracts, and full-text searching (but not viewing) at no charge and without having to register.
